PHP's asin in TypeScript

Rosetta Stone: ruby/asin

How to use

Install via yarn add locutus and import: import { asin } from 'locutus/php/math/asin'.

Or with CommonJS: const { asin } = require('locutus/php/math/asin')

Use a bundler that supports tree-shaking so you only ship the functions you actually use. Vite, webpack, Rollup, and Parcel all handle this. For server-side use this is less of a concern.

Examples

These examples are extracted from test cases that automatically verify our functions against their native counterparts.

#codeexpected result
1(asin(0.3) + '').substr(0, 17)"0.304692654015397"

Notes

  • Sorry about the crippled test. Needed because precision differs accross platforms.

Here's what our current TypeScript equivalent to PHP's asin looks like.

export function asin(arg: number): number {
// discuss at: https://locutus.io/php/asin/
// original by: Onno Marsman (https://twitter.com/onnomarsman)
// note 1: Sorry about the crippled test. Needed because precision differs accross platforms.
// example 1: (asin(0.3) + '').substr(0, 17)
// returns 1: "0.304692654015397"

return Math.asin(arg)
}

Improve this function

Locutus is a community effort following The McDonald's Theory: we ship first iterations, hoping others will improve them. If you see something that could be better, we'd love your contribution.
